Romantica Resort & Spa

Do not stay here if the below is not what you are looking for. It was like visiting the movie ‘cocoon’. Everyone here is of retirement age (of course not a problem, but not what we were expecting!) and staff did not seem welcoming of ‘outsiders’ (as further evidenced by the response to this review) The rooms were incredibly dated, the AC didn’t cool the room (with all windows and doors closed) it’s a really very very long steep climb up to the hotel from the road, the ‘13 pools’ are average, and some worryingly murky, you are made to buy and wear a swimming cap (at least the selfies were amusing lol). Despite the hotel information telling you that there should be ‘silence’ from midnight-8am, there was INCREDIBLY loud music (even with all doors and windows closed) which didn’t stop until 1am after repeated phone calls to reception. We then had a battle on our hands to be able to check out a day early and not be bullied into paying for and staying another night after our terrible experience. Honestly, when we were looking for a hotel we thought, ‘it will be fine for the price’, it was NOT and almost ruined our holiday EDIT: and as expected, they do not respond well to genuinely honest reviews. We just wanted to share our experience for others. We were not informed about the planned party that night, we’re all for people having fun!, and would not have booked the hotel had we known. I’m always very wary of places which leave sarcastic responses to people who have bad experiences of their service, I’d suggest to the management to consider this in their future public conduct, as it’s not necessary.

We had a very relaxting experience at Romantica Resort & Spa. We came for 2 nights to enjoy the thermal baths experience and it did not fall short. The pools were great and the view from the hotel is amazing. There is a free shuttle to the Sant'Angelo down town a couple of times per day, and there are many nice restaurants to try out, souvenir shops, and mini markets for quick grocery shopping. The breakfast is good is diversified, and it goes pretty late in case you want to sleep in. The hotel is 25 minutes by bus from Forio port, and 45 minutes by bus from Ischia port. The main negative point for which I rated 4/5 stars is the facilities in the room / bathroom...I think this aspect could be improved to match the expectations for a 4 star hotel. They could also renew the tennis rackets - they are too used and do not function properly anymore, and could place a night light on the tennis / football pitch - they are not usable during the night because there's no light and it's too hot to use during the day.

We also had very nice and comfortable room witht terrace and beautiful view of the romantic village of San't Angelo. San't Angelo is a really beautiful and quiet place. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay there and we woul´d love to come back. The thermal park is also perfect. Thank you

We stayed for a week. First of all I want to point out the good things. The pools are very nice and clean. The staff is always friendly and ready to help. The view is nice. The dinner was very good and you can walk to Sant Angelo. I didn't like that the rooms were very very nosy. You could hear people talking in their rooms or using the restrooms. The breakfast was the same every day with minimal choices. E.g. only 2 fruits and always the same. And most annoyingly: other guest behaved like monkeys. Many guest didn't follow the rules of the pools and were disrespectful to other guests. They were very loud. Overall this vacation wasn't very relaxing which is what I hoped for. But surely the hotel and their staff did it's best and that's why it's still a 4 out of 5 stars for me.
